it's been a long time ................................
Lot's have happened since my last post. I've been installed as Grand Po bah.... Actually, President of our local Kiwanis Club. I had a good night after the installation dinner. I was almost into a drunken stupor, but made sure I stayed in bed, till almost noon to keep from getting a hangover. I didn't really drink to excess, but definitely had my fill of my long time friend, Jack Daniels.... Jack and I our very good friends.. We've been around the bend a few times.
I almost got picked up, by two different women that night. First the good looking local drunken sleaze bag. I wouldn't touch her with your???? The second was some drunk fitness chick who wanted to work on me. the only thing she could work on would be her on her knees..... Must keep this R rated,.......
The newest thing is my new computer.!!! I bought an Acer Laptop. I've been looking all over the internet at laptops and was really looking for a Toshiba or an HP Pavillian laptop. But Acer was always rated as well as the others and there is a lot of bad reviews for Toshiba's. So I got an
Acer laptop.
Walmart had a Secret Special Pre Holiday Sale. An Acer Laptop for $348.00. They also had three or four other things on sale that morning. But all I was interested in was the laptop. Not that I wouldn't mind having a 52 inch flat panel screen HDTV for $999.00, they only had one for sale that morning. Most people where there for the HD DVD player for $199.00.
Now how could I afford the new laptop, you might ask?? Well its simple. The Soc. Sec. Adm. changed the way they are paying me my disability. Since after checking all the files, they found out I was eligible for SSI from when I first applied for disability, and because SSI pays on a different day, they switched my pay day to the beginning of the month, I had an extra $400-$500 to spend.
I was waiting for Soc. Sec. to send me my back money owed from two years ago to when I first started to get my disability. So when I saw the sale on TV and the Walmart web page, I had to have one. I got my friend to take me to Walmart that morning, they had limited supplies of these sale items. I even bought breakfast for the both of us afterwards. The laptop is all I need . It might not have all the latest, fastest processor and all the best gadgets, but it's better than my old E Machine desktop.
Now later that week I got the first of three installments of the back money owed to me so I went wild and bought lots of stuff for the new computer. A new printer, I thought my old one wouldn't work with the new computer, A wireless router since my laptop has a wireless card in it. i also got a laptop case, and some other gadgets and devices for it. All in all, laptop and accessories I spent about what I would have spent just on a new Toshiba or HP laptop.
I'm very pleased with the laptop and everything I have. My only concern is battery life. It has only about 1:45 to 2:00 worth of life before it needs charging. Oh well. But that is the only problem. I've read lot's of reviews on Acer laptops and they seem to be pretty well liked. As with all laptops, the battery life isn't to long. They have a nine cell battery that is supposed to give an extra 25 to 40 % more battery life, but that cost's all most twice as much as the six cell. I'll get one when this battery wears out. Right now when I'm home, I use it plugged in and keep it fully charged. I also every other day unplug it and run it on the battery, till the low power alarm goes off, the I plug in the charger and charge it back up.
Now back to the Soc. Sec., they are fuckin' with me over how they will be paying me my back money. Because SSI will only pay in three installments, and Soc. Sec. pays in one lump sum, they have decided to do it with SSI. Just to make it stretch out over 12 months. So I will get a check next May then the next November. But these next check will be for about twice as much as what they sent me this last time. My monthly check will stay the same, with my Medicare part B being taken out of that automatically. I'm not rolling in dough, but it sure beats Welfare...
